A 28 – year – old man who allegedly stabbed his 81 – year – old grandmother using a kitchen knife has claimed that she was ‘bewitching’ his genitals
The man who appeared before a magistrate court in Makadara was accused of
unlawfully assaulting and causing actual harm to the complainant at Kiamaiko. The incident happened within area of Huruma on August 21.
The woman who told the court that the grandson attempted to slit her throat and threatened to kill her and the entire family.
But the accused person denied the allegations and accused his grandmother of being a regular visitor to witches.
The complainant was within her plot when the accused person appeared while armed with a knife and allegedly confronted her.
She struggled with the suspect but he overpowered her and stabbed her before members of the public intervened and rescued her.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was treated and discharged before proceeding to the Huruma police station where she reported the matter and recorded a statement with the police.
However, the suspect apologized to his grandmother and she forgave her, and withdrew the case before it was taken to court.
