“A good leader seeks the Lord, commits his way to the Lord and the Lord establishes the next steps,” the Bible says.

This is what could have inspired Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja who hosted Pastor Dorcas Gachagua for a prayer session with some preachers.

Dorcas Gachagua who is the wife of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was accompanied by other preachers among them Bishop Pius Muiru to pray for Sakaja and his Deputy at their office in City Hall.

“Grateful to H.E Pr Dorcas Rigathi and the clergy from Nairobi for paying me a visit and praying for our city. Jer 33:9,” Sakaja shared on his Facebook account on Friday.

The post attracted hundreds of followers who responded with others supporting the prayers and others advising Sakaja on how to slay city cartels.

“The cartels and every Ghost that has terrorized the City county not to discharge its mandate must be in trouble with all the prayers that have been made. Now let’s get to work,” one of the residents, Vicky Kitonga, wrote.

Lydia Gacheru responded, “Am celebrating answered prayers. Nairobi County will never be the same again. Thank you, your Excellency, for not being ashamed of God. May God honor you,”

David Kariuki however advised that without handwork Sakaja will achieve much since cartels are equally fearless.

“Prayers are good. But that alone can’t change the city. You need to work extra hard, eliminate corruption and thuggery in the city if your motto of city of dignity and order is to be realised,”Kariuki wrote.
