Television journalist Jackie Maribe could still be in love with Jowi after all.
This was captured today during the mention of their case in which the two were linked with killing businesswoman Monica Kimani in September.
A rare photo from the Milimani court in which Jackie is tightly holding on to Joseph Irungu alias Jowi passionate hug has no resurfaced.
This will now put to rest wild speculation across that the two were separated by Monica’s death Dennis Itumbi in the picture.
Itumbi who is State House Secretary of Digital Communication who was initially whispered to be dating Maribe had been seen to have taken advantage of Jowi’s absence to rekindle their love.
The two have been close friends and at one time Mr. Itumbi interrupted a live news broadcasting on Citizen TV to present a birthday cake Ms. Maribe, who was at the time anchoring the news.
But Maribe got engaged to Jowi, in June even though the mother of one had kept her dating life a mystery from the public eye.
In the case she was released on a cash bail of Sh 1 million or a bond of Sh2 million.
Her fiancé, Joseph ‘Jowi’ Irungu, who is the first accused in the murder of businesswoman was however denied bail. He will remain in custody for the entire trial period.
Justice James Wakiaga ruled that Jowi is a flight risk and has access to weapons, something that can intimidate potential prosecution witnesses.
On Tuesday, Itumbi penned beautiful birthday message to Maribe to coincide with the mention of the matter. Here is the message.
“I wrote this one late, Kindly carry it to the car as you go to court today, That is why I slip this under your door, Happy Birthday Jacque Maribe, Been standing outside your door, With pen and notebook, Thinking how Tragic a year you had, Impressed by the Magic you have, Aware that like someone said, A challenge, only becomes an obstacle when you bow to it. So here my birthday note, At least one day this year find a very rainy mid-morning, I will come with an umbrella, So that, I can hold just one raindrop for you, place it on your bicep and watch it roll down. I ask for no more, Just a chance to watch you re-introduce yourself in 2019, with your wounds – Yes. With your visible scars – Yes. But with fresh stamina.. Undettered passion because you are, Jacque Maribe. Happy Birthday!”
After the hot hug from Jowi, Kenyans on social media ridiculed Itumbi while others praised him for showering Maribe with love and courage. But Itumbi with his usual way of tackling hard-hitting posts responded to some thus;
“Warren Riley the poems will continue. Even on her wedding day. I will perform a poem”
A Baba Juma told Itumbi; “If your Imenti was on point like your poetry, maybe she’d still be with you”, which Itumbi replied; “ Baba Juma it cannot be better. Imenti was a lie. Spread like bushfire.”
Anita Poet posed: “Usually I mind my business, but on this I feel like part of the story ,I am watching how it goes,but Dennis itumbi Hapo kwa standing at your door #stalker#.”
And a hilariously reply from Itumbi came thus; “Anita Poet , standing at her door, Maybe its open, Maybe its not the house door’ its the Kitchen door, Maybe its the door of her heart. Endless possibilities. Mmmh”
