A man who damaged his girlfriend’s bed during a heated argument was arrested and charged in court.
The man was charged with willfully and unlawfully damaging the wooden bed valued at Sh6,000 belonging to his girlfriend on May 24 in Githurai estate.
The two had been leaving together before the man left the house to unknown place only for him to return days later.
That day, the complainant was at her house in the company of the relatives when the accused person returned and allegedly grabbed a knife and threatened to stab her.
In a turn of events, the accused person later dropped the knife and took a hammer which he allegedly used to destroy the bed then disappeared.
His actions prompted the lady to report the matter to police leading to his arrest the following day.
When he appeared before Makadara law court principal magistrate the man stated that the complainant is his wife.
The court advised him to try reconciling with the wife since the cold season was around. “July is coming”
The accused was released on a cash bail of Sh5000 pending hearing on November 15.
