A 39 year old woman was arraigned before Makadara law courts over claims that she stole a child.
Christine Masika was said that she committed the offense on April 9 at Afro Sayari Club in Nairobi, Masika jointly with others not before the court trafficked by selling a male infant aged 5 days at Sh400,000.
It is reported that on April 3, a woman identified as Donilla Nafula who is the complainant’s daughter delivered a baby boy at Navakholo hospital.
Around that time, it is reported that the mother to the lady who had just delivered traveled from Nairobi to Kakamega where she is said to have picked the baby claiming that she will help in bringing him up.
When she arrived in Nairobi, police said she held a talk with a person over a deal to sell the infant.
Unknown to her, it is said the deal leaked to a good samaritan who shared the information with the police officers who posed at potential customers of the baby and negotiated the price and location to seal the deal.
It was then that the accused was nabbed having agreed to sell the infant at Sh300,000 to the police officers who rescued the baby and arrested her.
