Several women in Kenya are slowly dropping panties for men boxers in a new trend that is spreading like wildfire.
The discussion was sparked following a confession by Author Sarah Haluwa who posted that she has been buying boxers instead of panties.
“I’ve been buying boxers for myself at the men’s department for around two years now (because comfort is key as we age),” Haluwa shared on Facebook.
Adding, “for some reason I’ve never bumped into a man shopping on those aisles ever.Kwani when do you guys buy thuruari???
Haluwa’s confession opened a way for thousands of Kenyan women to confess that they are no longer wearing panties.
Popular Jubilee blogger Pauline Njoroge was among those who responded asking to be introduced into the comfort of boxers.
She asked Haluwa, “you are going to introduce me to those shops because. I also need comfort, these sexy things, are not working too well for this age,”
While boxers have usually been limited to underwear for men, their comfort and simplicity can come in clutch as loungewear for girls as well.
Over the past couple of years, we’ve casually worn boxers around as shorts and thoroughly enjoyed them.
The thing about boxers is that they are such a convenient and “easy” choice of apparel— as convenient as women’s apparel really even gets anyway.
Think of them as the dearly-loved oversized T shirt of your wardrobe, except the “bottoms” version.
You know that one oversized T-shirt in your closet, the one you probably wear way too often? The way you feel towards that perfect oversized T shirt is how we feel towards boxers— specifically, boxers for girls.
