Nairobi: Man who stole shoes from his girlfriend to surprise another woman released on Sh50K bond

A man was charged before a magistrate court for stealing shoes and other valuables in Nairobi.

Ryan Adika Lusalishi as per court records committed the offense between 7th and 8th November 2022 within Nairobi County.

It is stated that on the material day, he stole a laptop worth 25,000, back bag and jungle shoes all belonging to Elizabeth Okumu.

Adika was also accused of having or convening suspected stolen property against the law that during the time of detention, he was in possession of pair of jungle green boots and back bag reasonably suspected to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained.

On the material dates, it is stated that the complainant was in her workplace when she received a text message from her bank that a transaction had been denied over invalid PIN.

Later in the day when Elizabeth retired to her home, she noticed that the house had been somehow with some items fallen from their usual place.

Upon further probe, she realized that the laptop, bag and shoes were missing forcing her to inquire from the caretaker if someone had been spotted while she was away.

It was then that Elizabeth suspected the boyfriend who is now the suspect and when he was traced and arrested in another house where he lived.

There, the missing items were recovered and another woman who was living with confessed that Adika had gifted her jungle shoes.

The accused person denied the charges and was set free on a surety of Sh50,000 and alternative of Sh30,000 cash bail. The case will be mentioned on January 31.
