Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakuja was forced to apologise to journalists who were covering his Cabinet unveiling event on Wednesday afternoon.
This was after the County boss kept the reporters waiting for hours outside his City Hall office under the scorching sun.
Sakaja’s communication team had sent an alert to the newsrooms announcing that the governor would unveil his cabinet at 1pm but he showed about some few minutes to 3pm.
When Sakaja stepped out to read the list of his County Executive nominees, some journalists switched off their cameras only for the governor to realize that he was speaking to disappointed scribes.
“I apoligise for keeping you waiting for so long, my apology will come to you directly…please come for tea and mandazi after this event,” Sakaja told the journalist.
However after the event some reporters left the venue blaming the county boss and his communication team for not being keen on time keeping.
“I’ve have covered Sakja several times and in all the events he has never arrived on time even during the voting day,” one of the journalists told Nairobi Journal.
“I think his communication team is to blame because they forward invites without consulting their boss, Sakaja should put up a strong team, in future only quacks will be covering him,” the reporter added.
