Not long ago Kenyans were shocked after spotting some cows crossing pedestrian footbridge in Nairobi.
The animals were captured on camera at footbridge within Fedha area in Embakasi.
The animals among them goats and sheep have been adapting slowly to the changing design of the road that cuts through the hood from Mombasa road all the way to Thika road’s GSU roundabout.
“The cows have been here for long but what is shocking is how the cross the road even where there are huge gaps meant for drainage’s that were recently designed” a trader told local publication
The trader added, “They find their way to the footbridges and sleep on top sometimes but since the time is started working here. I have never seen any animal being knocked down, and maybe they are trained because some of them are not accompanied by anyone.”
There are three flyovers between Taj-Mall and Donholm which are are used by few residents mostly during the weekend to while away the time and enjoy the view of vehicles and airplanes landing on Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Thus some of them have been littered with sugarcane husks and maize cobs; another thing that could be luring the cows to use the flyovers.
“Some of the animals find themselves on top of the flyovers because they are littered by those who come here to hang around like lovers during the weekend” explained another trader.
