A youthful man has been arraigned in court for allegedly killing his mother’s chickens and creating disturbance.
Police said that Isaac Maina Nyambura committed the offence on September 3 at her mother’s house in Nairobi’s Jericho estate.
Maina who claimed to run a joint poultry business with his mother, is said to have stormed his mother’s house and demanded that he be given a dozen eggs.
The court heard that the accused argued with his mother over the matter for sometime as she refused to give in to his request.
According to the prosecution, Maina threatened to harm his mother if his request was not granted and in a fit of rage hit two chickens and killed them on the spot.
Maina denied the charge and was released on a Sh10,000 cash bail. The matter will be heard on January 16.
