More than 20 million condoms distributed monthly for free by government and non-governmental organisations fighting against HIV/Aids will be dotted from now.

The free condoms will be in same league with expensive ones in the market. Such studded condoms are locally sold for Sh150 and above for a set of three condoms.

This has made Kenya the first country in Africa to distribute for free studded, comfortable and sensual sheaths to its citizens. The National AIDS and STI’s Control Programme Key Population Manager Helgar Musyoki says it’s a milestone.

Nascop Helgar says distributes 20 million condoms every month while LVCT distributes slightly above 500, 000 condoms monthly.

Stanley Ngara alias King of Condoms of LVCT says this is intended to make love-making more pleasurable and users wearers not to feel downgraded.

“They stimulate sex like the high-priced ones. We are getting positive feedback and uptake is even higher. They are also easier to put on for novices and particularly visually handicapped” says Ngara.

He adds; “Above sensation they made in such a way beginners can easily identify the side that should be outside and especially blind people are able to touch, feel it and put it on easily”
