As Kenyans are still discussing the unexpected transfer of Samuel Muchoki famously known as Muchoki alias Samidoh from Nairobi to Gil-gil, Inspector General of police Douglas Kanja has opened up.

Samidoh’s transfer comes after he was heard saying ‘Wantam’ while performing in a club during the weekend.

The word ‘Wantam’ was coined by politicians in the opposition to tease President Ruto that he might serve for one term.

However, while addressing the press in Nairobi, the Inspector General of Police said that transfers are a routine part of police service management and that all officers, including Samidoh, are subject to redeployment as needed.

It is reported that Samidoh was moved from his post at the Anti-Stock Theft Unit headquarters in Gilgil to the bandit-prone area of Baringo County.

The transfer follows the viral spread of a video showing Samidoh performing “Wantam” chants, a politically sensitive slogan, leading to widespread speculation that the reassignment is a disciplinary action.
