A white bull belonging to Homa Bay Woman Representative Hon. Joyce Atieno Osoro, popularly known as Bensouda, was recovered in a dramatic evening operation.
This was after members of the public tip-off the police and led the authorities straight to where the animal had been driven to.
On the evening of 30 July 2026, around 6:30 p.m., the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) at Kendu Bay Police Station received credible information that a bull matching the description of the one stolen from the Woman Rep’s homestead had been sighted at the home in Rachuonyo North Sub-County.
Acting swiftly, the OCS, accompanied by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Rachuonyo North, raced to the scene.
There they found the white bull standing at the homestead. When questioned, the homestead owner pointed investigators to a suspect who tried to conceal himself beneath a bed .
Valentine Ogembo, a 40-year-old man, is said to have brought the animal to the homestead.
Police located Ogembo hiding underneath a bed. He was arrested on the spot. Officers carefully processed and documented the scene before escorting both men to Kendu Bay Police Station or ding further inquiry
