A man who is being held over claims that he killed girlfriend in Bomet County has alleged that she committed the shocking act since he educated the lady but dumped him for another man.
Ismael Langat 21 is reported to have attacked his 25-year-old girlfriend with a panga after she arrived home from college where she was schooling.
The suspect claimed that he had sold a piece of land to educate the woman, further adding he had warned the deceased against the flirting behaviour.
According to witnesses, the suspect also attempted to kill his father, who had rushed to the scene to find out what was going on.
He however managed to escape by a whisker after dodging the panga-wielding son who was baying for his blood.
The suspect, after the heinous act, surrendered himself to Makimeny Police Station carrying blood-stained Panga.
Chepalungu Police boss Panton Analo said the body of the deceased has since been moved to Longisa Referral Hospital Mortuary.
