The Anglican Church has announced that gays will not be barred from worshiping in their churches across the world, Kenya included.
The church will however not officiate any kinds of same sex marriage for those wishing to take their relationship to the next level.
The stand was shared by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby from the Church of England who is in brief sojourn to Kenya adding that the Anglican Church believes in the biblical definition of marriage and relationships.
“My own view of the Christian marriage is the traditional marriage (between a man and woman),’’ said Welby.
He added, “But just so you know in England, it is not currently possible to have same sex marriage in the church,”
Welby made the remarks after a morning service at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi accompanied by Kenya’s ACK Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit.
