What started as a peaceful demonstration to mark the first anniversary of GenZ protests in Nairobi turned ugly.

By Wednesday evening, there were reports that two people had been shot dead in Molo and Matuu.

In Kenya’s Capital City, Nairobi horrific scenes were witnessed as police and protestors clashed for the better part of the day.

Two of protestors in Molo and Matuu have lost their lives with many sustaining life threatening to soft tissue injuries.

In one of the incidents, Citizen tv reporters was hit on the head by teargas canister only for a helmet to save him; another protestor lost his fingers after teargas exploded on his arms.

At the same time, two men who were shot by the anti-riot police were rushed to the Kenyatta National Hospital.

In Matuu one of the protesters reportedly succumbed to gunshot wounds in which his lower abdomen organs were injured.

According to the eye witnesses, a group of about eight protestors stormed into Matuu police station and in response, police fired and eight of them sustained soft tissue injuries caused by a bullet.

Elsewhere, the anti-riot police had a rough time containing bonfires lit at the Kiambu law court and its county offices.

Several Gen-Zs were arrested in connection with the fire incident.
