Months after President William Ruto led the official elevation of Edloret into a city, locals now claim that there is nothing much to write home about the status.
They are now questioning whether there was a hurry to uplift a small town in Uasin-Gishu County into a City without proper planning.
Among the challenges dogging the city include poor drainage, lack of proper walkways and even lack of enough public toilets.

Loice Chebii, one of the traders in the town wonders why whenever it rains, the waters overflow to the pavements.
She feels that their taxes are not being utilised properly to serve them, urging President Ruto to revoke the City status until the right time comes.
“I wonder why there was a hurry to elevate it into a city, yet whenever it rains every street is in a mess,” Chebii stated.
Adding that, “The biggest issue is that of drainage systems that block during the rainy seasons, the overflow spills to pavements,”
Another resident, Robert Chelimo said ther than corruption and abuse of power, nothing else is going on in this county.
Moses Kibet on his part argues, “That city is just a farm. Nothing to be proud about . It was even better under the municipal council back then.
