As the impeachment process of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was gathering pace, Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni made a hilarious observation.
Kioni noted that the person who will take over from Rigathi will just be ceremonial and will not wield any powers.
“Rigathi will be impeached but the person who will take over from him will be like a puppet, after this Deputy Presidency will lose meaning because Ruto will be the one calling shots, the next Dp will be like a puppet,” Kioni noted.
He added, “”We have been struggling for several years to ensure that there is cohesion, but when I hear some members of parliament speaking, they seem to be on a mission to establish a collision course. Maybe it is the desire to pit communities against each other and win easily in 2027″, Kioni said.
Kioni urged the politicians to ensure that no matter the situation, they should not take the country back to the 2007 chaos.
Kioni was leading the party to welcome new members from Nandi, Uasin-Gishu and Kakamega counties who have ditched their parties.
“They came to find out how they came to find out how we can activate the party in their respective counties after a recent court ruling handing them rightful ownership of the party,” Kioni stated.
They new party members shared the problems that they feel that the current regime had promised but are yet to be fulfilled.
One of the issues that they singled out was the ongoing process to oust Deputy President which they termed as way distracting Kenyans citing that Ruto administration has failed.
“The impeachment process is meant to distract Kenyans so that we forget about the scandals that we are having across the country,” Kioni stated, adding that the impeachment process should not be turned into a 1 against 40 campaign.
