A family has accepted huge dowry for their daughter aged 18 who had attracted two rich men who were competing to marry her.
The girl, Athika Dau from South Sudan became famous after two men offered huge dowry for her family at the same time recently.
One of the suitors identified as Chol Marol had offered 350 cows and a Toyota V6. He had also promised to build bedroom house for Athiak’s family.
His competitor, Marial Garang Jiel had pledged 105 cows and 2.6 million shillings so as to win’s the girl’s hand in marriage.
According to Hot in Juba reports that the girl’s family has accepted Chol Marol over Marial Garang Jiel.
The announcement came after a highly publicized negotiation process that captivated social media.
“Athiak, an 18-year-old from Jonglei State, became the center of attention with her suitors offering substantial dowries,” an update by Hot in Juba reads in part.
Adding that, “Marial Garang Jiel had pledged 105 cows and 65 million South Sudanese pounds to secure her hand in marriage.
