Kevin Bahati got moved when he took to the podium to recount on his mega achievement of rising from being an orphan at the Children’s home to gracing an international TV reality show dubbed The Bahatis Empire.
The Bahati’s Empire will have aired on Netflix; it is inspirational, entertaining and reflects on their lives.”We have done our best to make sure that we raise the Kenyan flag high, so far this is the best Kenyan reality Tv show in Kenya at the Moment.
We created this to show the world that Kenyans are the best content creators in Africa. Bahati said he was raised in Mathare, Ngei Ward next to Huruma.
At the age of 7, he lost his mother and while his father remarried again before moving out of Nairobi leaving Bahati without an option but to move to a children’s home.
“When I was in class eight, I received a call to go bury my father whom I had not seen since I ended up in a Children’s home.” he stated. He added that he briefly left the home to go and attend to his father’s burial. “I had promised to take advantage of every opportunity given to me.
“I completed my O levels while still at the ABC Home. Thereafter I went back to the streets to start life on my own and the first place I landed at was at Mr. Seed’s mother’s house.” he stated
Further, Bahati informed the crowd that he is not the best vocalist in Kenya but having resiliently ventured into music, he turned out to be the most followed male artist and second most subscribed artist on YouTube in Kenya.
Wittily, Bahati while addressing the attendees, said that he tried politics which ended in vain contrary to the awards he had been bagging in the music industry. He added that his wife Diana was not happy with his decision.
“My dream is to take Kenyan film to another level. I have people who inspire me and as a result we are going to have the best and biggest TV show in Kenya. I thank you all, especially the celebrities, for supporting this show in one way or another.”
On the other hand, Diana clearly recalled how Bahati contacted her to be his video vixen, a call which she termed to be a life time venture and just being associated with him is enough.
She hinted that they were the first Kenyan couple to do National Tv show dubbed being Bahati which later transitioned to Bahati reality show before everything was stopped as a result of Covid Pandemic.
Diana confessed that much of the negative things have been said about her but her lovely husband could hear none of it since he has been her pillar of support, strength and encouragement.
“His love for me is so overwhelming and seeing this dream come to reality is unbelievable.” she confessed
