The mother of a teenager who was accused of beating a traffic police officer has revealed some secrets on what transpired on the material day.
At the same time, the mother of Ian Ngige Njoroge has narrated how she raised the boy who has now risen into midnight fame on June 2, 2024.
“This my first born boy whom I brought him up by myself, he is a boy I dedicated to the church at Deliverance church, he is a member of the youth service in the church and that is where we fellowship,” the mother shared on Monday.
She added that, “I was so heartbroken when I had come back home from business trip that night and all I saw were flying quad cars outside my gate and in shock I went inside and found policemen folding my son down,”
The mother claimed when she inquired from the officers, the officers showed her a video and told her son is a murderer, a robber and that he wanted to kill the police officer identified as Jacob Ogendo.
“I was shocked because I have brought up my son in Christian way, a boy who has gone to a good school, he was in sunshine secondary school in Langata,” the mother shared in pain.
Adding that, “he is a boy who has grown with manners, God fearing, obedient, very polite at home, in fact I have never seen him agitated.
Later, Ngige confessed to her that he wanted to bring back the car before going to church when he encountered the police officer along Kamiti road after making a wrong U turn.
It is alleged that the officer demanded 10,000 from the boy but he could not raise the amount but promised to call friends to assist him raise Sh5,000 which the officer declined.
And while still at the spot some matatu guys came and convinced the officer to give back the car keys which he had taken from the boy and because he had really tried to plead with him in vain.
“I’m thinking that is how he became agitated…he wanted to come back home and take the sister to the church on time,” the mother narrated.
“My boy is not a thief, even if a leave ten shillings in my house, he will never touch it ,” she added.
