A family in Nairobi survived a deadly trap that was set by a house girl so as to kill them.
According to a video that has gone viral, the house girl allegedly used cooking gas to set up the deadly trap.
It is reported that the maid used a knife to cut a section of the pipe used as a link between the cylinder and gas cooker.
From the video, she used a rag to cover the area that had sliced on the pipe for anyone not to notice but allow the gas to leak.
This would have seen the gas leak in the kitchen awaiting any member of the family to switch on the lights or strike a match box so as to ignite the gas.
At the time, it is reported that all the family members were away allowing the house girl to set the trap and leave the house.
Luckily, the first person to come back was the man of the house who entered the kitchen and realized that all was not okay after picking up the smell of the gas.
“Her intention was to kill us but God is great, her trap did not work because the gas valve did not release the gas as the house girl had planned,” the man explained.
“The little gas that escaped had vanished in the air but the house girl had packed everything and left the house expecting an explosion,” the man shared.
The video has generated a lot of reaction with the majority asking how the house girl was treated by the family.
“God is great that you survived…but house girls need to be treated like human beings too, even though she should be arrested to face attempted murder,” one of the followers observed.
