It has now emerged that President Ruto did not rebuke Nairobi Johnson Sakaja during an agricultural summit in Nairobi.

The incident happened on October 7, 2026 during an event attended by President Ruto and governor Sakaja.

“I hope, wewe Governor, you are listening. You know, this is the space you need to listen. We have huge potential here!” said

This was quickly misconstrued that President Ruto was rebuke the Nairobi governor who was few metres away during a presentation by one of the officers.

Independent investigations have now revealed that Ruto was rebuking another governor from North Eastern who was mumbling in behind the President. Sakaja handlers have also clarified that it was not him who was being rebuked.

The President’s remarks were directed at a governor whose region has been hit by prolonged drought has severely affected livelihoods, particularly livestock farming.

The presentation focused on the potential of Kenya’s agricultural sector, with the officer highlighting areas that require greater investment and attention.

Ruto said that while the crop sector had developed significantly, livestock remained an area with considerable untapped potential.

“The crop space is well developed, but the livestock sector, where we have huge potential, is not,” Ruto remarked.
