Samburu Governor Moses Kasaine Lolenkulal will be today charged with graft over Sh 84 million loot from the county.
Director of Public Prosecution today morning said that the county chief alongside his close proxy Hesbon Ndathi shared the money believed meant for fuel supply by an oil marketing firm names Oryx Limited.
Investigations revealed that Lolenkulal has a stake in Oryx which he failed to disclose while the company was transacting with his county.
Interestingly, the firm started supplying fuel to Samburu County when Lolenkulal got into office in 2013 to date.
Questions linger how Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission managed to unearth a syndicate that has run for six years without raising eyebrows.
The DPP said that slueths acted on a tip off by the public.
Also in the Samburu county corruption dragnet are his deputy Julius Leseeto and 10 county officials who are also believed to have participated in siphoning public money.
” Investigations established that the Governor was trading with the county through Oryx Services Limited since March 27,2013 to date,” Said Haji.
