Police in Ongata-Rongai have arrested a 31-year-old lady for allegedly stabbing a parliament chef to death.
Catherine Muthoki was arrested in connection with the death of Kamau Mungai Gathogo on April 29, 2026.
On the material evening around 9pm neighbours claimed Mungai arrived in the house from in company of Catherine is what is believed they had left a drinking joint.
However, neighbours say the suspect had only lived alone for about one year but the girlfriend joined him about three weeks before the tragic ending.
A security guard saidon the material day, Mungai who seemed drunk arrived with his girlfriend went to the house as usual and after a while he heard some noises but assumed it was because he was drunk.
After a while, the security guard says Mungai’s girlfriend left the house and did not return until about half an hour when he heard someone locking loudly.
“When I check I found lady who is not tenant and told me she was coming to visit Mungai when I asked her to call him first so that he can confirm she revealed that he had been stabbed,” added the guard
At the time, Muthoki was in the company of the lady who stormed in and went to Mungai’s house and shortly they started screaming and calling for help.
Neighbours say it then that they learnt Mungai had been stabbed on his chest with blood all over his clothes and was at time lying on his chest. He later passed on at Kenyatta National Hospital.
