You facilitated the MCA’s in attendance with Kshs. 20,000; money you obtained from persons who seek to derail the agenda of the people and the united alternative government.

Trouble is brewing inside Rigathi Gachagua’s Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) after Kirinyaga Woman Representative Hon. Jane Njeri Maina publicly accused the party’s Deputy Leader, Cleophas Malala, of plotting to cause a rift in the county.

In a strongly worded post on X early this morning, Njeri Maina claimed Malala held a secret meeting yesterday evening with a section of MCAs who are allied to Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru.

“I am aware that yesterday, between 8.00PM-10.00PM, you met a section of MCA’s allied to Gov. Anne Waiguru from Kirinyaga county at Golden Palm Kenol,” Njeri wrote, directly tagging Malala.

“The agenda was to create a splinter group to fight H.E. Rigathi Gachagua, EGH’s foot soldiers in that county. You facilitated the MCA’s in attendance with Kshs. 20,000; money you obtained from persons who seek to derail the agenda of the people and the united alternative government.”Njeri, a fierce ally of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, did not stop there.

She revealed that she and Malala had held private talks about the issue before, but said he has now “crossed the Rubicon.”“You infamously had the bad habit, as SG in your former party, of soliciting money from everyone and anyone for favors.

Unfortunately, it seems that you have not changed one bit,” she added.“So bring it on, you shall face off with me where the rubber meets the road.”

The dramatic accusation comes at a time when DCP; the party closely associated with Gachagua since his impeachment has been battling reports of internal divisions.

Just two months ago, Gachagua himself publicly denied any fallout with Malala, describing him as “a bold leader and a man of principle” who had only stepped back due to illness.

Political observers in Mt Kenya say the alleged meeting could be an attempt by Waiguru-aligned forces (widely seen as close to the national government) to weaken Gachagua’s grip on Kirinyaga ahead of the 2027 elections.

Malala has not yet responded publicly to the explosive claims. “Incase you forgot, where I come from, we milk lions while seated on porcupines. I shall treat you with the contempt you deserve going forward.” She fiercely cautioned him.
