American streaming sensation IShowSpeed (aka Darren Watkins Jr.) is turning his “Speed in Africa” tour into a rollercoaster of chaotic fun full of amusements.
The 21-year-old YouTuber kicked off his insane 28-day sprint across 20 countries on December 29, 2025, but things got really messy in Ethiopia on January 13, 2026.
Fresh from Kenya, where he surpassed 48 million subscribers amid safari thrills and Maasai dances, Speed landed in Addis Ababa to a heroic welcome.
Thousands of screaming fans swarmed him like a rock star, chanting his name and taking selfies. IN his livestream, he had over 250,000 viewers glued to their screens.
What followed was a culinary adventure: He tried injera, a tangy, spongy flatbread staple, and slurped potent Ethiopian coffee like a champ.
Then came the moment for tere siga, Ethiopia’s bold raw beef dish, zinged with fiery mitmita spices and rich niter kibbeh butter. It’s a historic delicacy born from ancient warrior traditions, but for a newbie’s gut, it was a pure rebellion waiting to happen.
Disaster struck mid-stream when he was preparing to dive into making delicacies with a renowned chef. “This is not good. My stomach is moving,” Speed groaned, doubling over in agony. Then came the bombshell confession that sent the internet into a frenzy:
“I broke the wind bro,” he thought he has soiled himself and that was when his bouncers hustled him off-camera perhaps for a frantic cleanup.
His Ethiopian and Zimbabwean look-alikes jumped in, hilariously hosting the show while Speed battled his belly discomfort.
Fans, however, erupted with diverse thoughts on what possibly caused his stomach upset, with some speculating on the effects of consuming raw meat, Addis Ababa’s dizzying 7,700-foot altitude, or that ultra-strong coffee jolt.
Some suggested that he should rest and cautioned him against eating raw meat. Some comically said that he must have eaten food made in 2018 (the current year in Ethiopia’s calendar) in 2026.
Those privy to Ethiopia’s infamous raw meat cuisine came to its defense, claiming that it was safe if handled the right way but was the fastest bowel cleaner.
Moments later, the undeterred Speed bounced back for a chill dinner with Miss World Africa, proving his unbreakable spirit.
