Orange Democratic Movement party leader Oburu Oginga has been unwell for about one month now.
Owing to his absence, Kenyans have been inquiring about his health and why he has kept off any political activities in the country.
Oburu Oginga flew to the United Kingdom on Sunday, September 6, 2026, for a routine medical check-up and rest following a brief hospital visit in Nairobi.
He however returned to Kenya on September 25, 2026, after spending about three weeks in the United Kingdom for a medical check-up.
And on October 6, 2026 reports emerged that Oburu was unwell again and had checked into Nairobi Hospital for routine checkup.
Thus, ODM Director of Communications Phillip Etale in a statement on Tuesday, October 6 said the party leader was okay even as Kenyans online shared contradicting information.
“Oburu Oginga is back, and there is no cause for alarm; he is doing very well after going for a routine check-up and will bounce back,” Etale wrote
