Six protestors who reportedly went missing during Gen Z commemoration on June 25 were last night found having been dumped near Atlanta stadium and .

They are now receiving treatment at the Nairobi women’s hospital after they sustained serious Injuries on their bodies.

The six were reportedly arrested outside Parliament Buildings while participating in demonstrations marking the second anniversary of the 2024 Gen Z-led protests against the Finance Bill, during which dozens of young Kenyans were killed.

Among the missing victims included, Frederick Odhiambo Ojiro, Christine Lubanga, Michael Ngige popularly identified as Jomo Kenyatta Junior due to his resemblance to founding President Jomo Kenyatta.

Others included Muteti Mulinge, Collins Ochieng, Elijah Alam. However, Davis remains unaccounted for, and his family continues to seek answers on his whereabouts.

Civil society organizations, including the Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) and Haki Africa, confirmed that the six were located in the early hours of Saturday, June 27, 2026.

Three were reportedly dumped along Lang’ata Road, while others were found near Talanta Stadium grounds. They were immediately rushed to hospital for treatment.

According to statements from human rights defenders, the victims described a harrowing ordeal. After their arrest, they were initially held in a police lorry at Nairobi Central Police Station, then moved to Parklands Police Station.

They were later transported along Limuru Road toward Naivasha, where armed officers in Subaru vehicles allegedly took over. The protesters claimed they were beaten, handcuffed, blindfolded, and taken to an unknown location believed to be in a forested area.

There, they were separated, subjected to further beatings, and interrogated about funding sources for protests, why they recorded police officers, and details of their movement.

They were allegedly held until around 3 a.m. before being dumped in various Nairobi locations.

Haki Africa Executive Director Hussein Khalid strongly condemned the actions: “These six were treated in an inhuman and degrading manner by the police service. The same people who have sworn to protect lives are the ones who were torturing our colleagues brutally.”

KHRC official Irene Soila expressed deep concern over the pattern of abductions and torture, warning of worsening human rights violations during protests.

The June 25 events were intended as a peaceful commemoration of victims from the 2024 anti-Finance Bill protests, which saw widespread demonstrations met with a heavy security response.

“It has been a very difficult 48 hours since our colleagues were picked from outside Parliament, as we were commemorating Gen Z martyrs murdered in 2024.

These six were treated in an inhuman and degrading manner by the police service. The same people who have sworn to protect lives and take care of Kenyans’ safety are the ones who were torturing our colleagues brutally” said Khalid.

Khalid has now called for the investigations into torture claims while urging members of the public to help in identifying the officers through videos captured during arrests.
