The ill-fated helicopter that killed Emurua Dikir Member of Parliament Johana Ngeno had been developing some mechanical challenges.

At some point it almost killed a Cabinet Secretary recently, this is according to a Facebook post by a Kenyan identified as Osborn Yogo.

Yoogo posted that he recently left Nairobi on the said chopper to Kisumu as a single passenger and landed within the Molasses plant compound.

Later, he was joined by his boss in Kisumu on a commercial flight adding that they were scheduled to visit 3 countries the following day.

He stated that the first meeting was in Bomet for a physical audit of the FLLoCA programs.

“On the actual day, this thing couldn’t start. After a little struggle, the thing lifted slightly only to come down,” Yogo claimed

Adding that, “The pilot made another failed attempt to lift off the ground for a third time. The cabinet secretary John Mbadi, Hon. Walter Owino and I were forced down and had to wait for around 2 hours for another chopper from Nairobi to replace this,”

Yogo, in the facebook post claimed the second incident happened on their way to Kisumu from Migori after a successful meeting with the president.

He stated while they were approaching Kisumu from the Nyakach side of the lake, the helicopter was hit by a storm and it began to train midway this trip.

“We were pushed deep into the lake with heavy work and rain working us deep inside the lake. Apparently, we were still with Hon. Walter and the CS on this day,” he stated

Adding, “God saved us and we landed in Kisumu. No one spoke until we got to the hotel. This was the last day I hired this chopper and vowed never to, again,”
