Roots party leader George Wajackoya has reavaled that he was very close to the family of fomer Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
So close that he claims, he was food tester of Raila’s father Jaramogi Oginnga Odinga in London while making sure his safety came first by tasting his food.
“I used to be a food tester for Oginga I went to an extent of taking poison on his behalf” he stated.
While eulogising Raila, Wajackoya said he has been left an orphan adding that the late leader was his inspiration.
“I was holding on and learning from him. Whatever you see in me I adopted from him. He has left me an orphan.” He said sadly.
He wondered how the void he left would be filled. “Raila’s shoes are too big. I can’t even move near it. We pray that we shall carry forward with his legacy and for whatever he stood for”
The Roots party leader praised Raila for his honesty and intergrity adding that he loved his enemies even those who abused him.
He described Raila as an enigma and spirit, one who can climb a mountain without looking at it. He affirmed that Raila was not dead because his spirit was within.
While urging other political bodies to embrace Odinga’s system of operations, Wajackoya has promised kenyans to embody Raila’s values and the way of leadership
