How a woman’s call saved a kidnapped lover

The demand for ransom shocked the lady who reported the incident to the authorities.

A man who had been kidnapped and later rescued at Thindigua , Kiambu County  was saved by his lover’s call.

The man’s girlfriend had called him that day and the call was answered by a stranger who demanded a random of Sh 500,000 so that they can release her boyfriend while safe.

The demand for ransom shocked the lady who reported the incident to the authorities.

According to the DCI, “the search operation and subsequent arrest of the suspects unfolded after the victim’s girlfriend’s call to his boyfriend was answered by an unidentified voice that demanded a ransom of Sh500,000 for the safe return of her boyfriend.”

Acting on intelligence leads, a team of detectives trailed down the kidnappers to to their hideout in Ithanga, where they successfully rescued the victim. The victim had sustained numerous visible injuries and a blood-stained shirt.

The suspects; Sydney Ezra Achanda, John Louise Omondi, Enock Sum Cheruyot, Peter Kanini Mwangi, and Lucy Sara Muhonja were arrested near Quickmatt Thindigua.

Two vehicles used by the suspects: a Suzuki Swift (KDD 841D) and a Mazda Demio (KDP 468Y) have bepen impounded by the detectives. police stated that they managed to recover a kitchen knife, ten assorted mobile phones, and a tablet, among other items from the vehicles.

Additionally, the suspects had already received a ransom of Sh68,000. The five suspects are currently in custody, undergoing processing, awaiting their court appearanc
