It has now been revealed that Nairobi lawyer Mathew Kyalo Mbobu was shot eight times, leading to the severe injury on the largest vein causing servere bleeding to death.
Mbobu was killed by unkown assailants in a drive-in shooting on the eve of Teusday, September 9.
He was headed home when he met his untimely death while making his way out through Magadi road near Galleria Brookside
The Autospsy which was conducted by the government chief pathologist Johansen Oduor in presence of family representatives showed that he died from severe injuries and over bleeding.
“upon examining his body, we found that Mbobu was short eight times with most of the shots entering through the right side of the body” Oduor stated.
Oduor, while addressing the press at Lee Funeral said that recovered two bullets from Mbobu’s left upper arm. Police had earlier revealed that there were missing spent cartridges from Mbobu’s vehicle.
The two bullets according to the chief pathologist have been handed over to the detectives for further ballistic analysis.
“His spine and neck vessels was severely injured, and most of the bullets had entry and exit apart from the two bullets we have recovered which had only entry.” Oduor said.
Dr Oduor said that some of the bullets caused graze wounds meaning the bullets were passing through the skin and not getting into the body but some had entry and exit except for the recovered ones which only had entry.
The bullets were directed on the neck and left upper arm. “there was a tattooing on his chin caused by the gun powder which is always hot, an indication that the assailant was at a very close range.
Oduor further revealed that Mbobu’s largest vein, the Jugular had een serverely ijured and so in such instance, it requires an emergency for one to survive. In his parting short, he confirmed that anyone shooting eight times had intention of killing.
Detectives are now on pursuing the assailants who immediately escaped after the incident.
