Robbers in Nairobi have devised new tricks of luring people into their dens so as to rob them.

The latest trick which police are now probing involves sticking posters on the estates with images of hot ladies posing as sugar mummies.

For those who don’t know, A “sugar mummy” refers to a wealthy woman who spends freely on a younger person, generally a man, in return for companionship or sexual intimacy.

In one such incident, a businessman in Nairobi’s Umoja1 estate was robbed of Sh17,000 and mobile phone after falling into such a trick.

Apparently, the man came across a poster on an electricity pole bearing an image and contacts of a lady claiming to be rich and looking for an energetic man.

Without wasting time, the man dialed the mobile numbers on the poster and was directed into a guest house around 5pm in the evening.

Shock, however, greeted him when he showed up and found a lady who welcomed him to the room but the moment he started undressing four men stormed in.

“They assaulted him and robbed him of his items and Sh17,000 then held in the room until 7pm when he was released while naked,” one of the witnesses who rescued him said.

The shaken man reported the matter to the nearby Patrol Base where police officers assisted him with some clothes as they begin investigations.

“Such cases are becoming common not only in Umoja but other estates, men should be cautious when they come across such trick,” an officer privy to the case warned.
