Kenyans woke up to the saddening news of the demise of former footballer star Ezekiel Otuoma.

His wife Rachael who shared the news on Tiktok said Otuoma died on December 21, 2024 after a long battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) adding it was her birthday.

“You left a hole in my heart that no one else can fill. The emptiness in my arms reminds me of the love we shared. Your love was a gift and I’ll cherish it always. Though it was soon. That really broke my heart as you left on my birthday.

It will never be the same again. You never said you were leaving or even showed a sign. I loved you dearly and in death I love you still. In my heart you hold a place that only you can fill.” She wrote.

While celebrating her birthday on Friday, Rechael emotionally made a wish for God to grant her now deceased husband a healing to have him get back on his feet again, a prayer which was answered with peaceful eternal rest a short while later.

“Before I blow the candles, I want to make a wish. My wish is to see my hubby on his feet again. I just wish God would just grant us that healing. That is the only wish. I am praying for healing for my hubby”

US Based Kenyan lady, Diana Rose who has been vocal on matters pertaining feminism and social justice had earlier cautioned Rachael against selfish Tiktokers.

Diana boldly requested Kenyan Tiktokers especially women who like analyzing occurring issues on the platform to have a little respect for the family during this trying moment.

” This is not the moment of glory or analysis. It Is high time to allow them peace and space to mourn.  This is not time to start punching and scrutinizing Rechae Otuoma.” She requested.

She called out on Tiktokers who just show up at funeral arrangements and burials with intention to reap information for their own personal gains to at least understand the boundaries and have respect for the bereaved.

The football fraternity mourned Otuma as a dedicated player always filled with smiles and occasionally showed his excellent prowess in football.

Before he got confined to a wheelchair, Otuoma previously played with Western Stima, Muhoroni Youth, Ulinzi Stars and Talanta FC.
