Details of a man suspected to be behind the murder of a former Zetech University student have been shared by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation,
The suspect who is being sought by detectives has been identified as Ken Kimathi Gichunuku alias Sultan who has since gone into hiding following commission of the heinous act.
The 23-year-old Seth Nyakio Njeri is believed to have been killed by the suspect and the body found at her friend’s house at Biafra Estate within Thika Township on October 20,2024.
This was after she left her home in high spirits. Nyakio who is the daughter of Kirinyaga nominated Member of County Assembly (MCA) Lucy Njeri has been buried at her home.
According to the DCI, Gichunuku has a criminal record of threatening to kill as evidenced in a September 25, 2024 court case, and detectives are considering him dangerous to anyone he deems might expose him.
In a statement on Thursday night, the DCI has urged members of the public who might be aware of his whereabouts or have information that may lead to his arrest to call their toll free hotline or report to the nearest police station.
