Nakuru Women Representative Lisa Chelule has advised men not to lure schoolgirls with the aim of sleeping with them during the long holiday.
The MP was speaking during an event over the weekend in a video that has since gone viral.
“I want to urge the young men to stop seducing schoolgirls, leave them alone and go for mature women,” Lisa stated.
She continued to address the men, “much as parents are telling the girls not to be easily available, men should also stop luring the girls,”
While insisting that there were enough mature women, she regretted that some men have made it a habit to go around hunting for ladies without doing anything constructive.
“Leave that habit, let the men go for those mature women who are rich,” she added in Kalenjin dialect.
Several administrators have so far noted that during the festive holidays, most children are tempted to do illegal activities that, in the long run, ruin their lives, adding that this is the period when most teenage pregnancy cases are reported.
They argue that during the festive season, children are tempted to engage in illegal activities like alcohol drinking and smoking, among others.
At the same time, they warn that It is at this time that minors go missing, are defiled, or are even killed in unclear circumstances.
For this reason, parents and caregivers have been urged to ensure they protect children against such.
