Police in Kakamega County are in hot pursuit of a young lady who was spotted entering a lodging with a man aged 55 who was later found dead on bed.
It is reported that the man, Elijah Mudongo was found dead in a lodging at Shibuli shopping centre in Lurambi.
It is stated that the deceased had first booked the room in the early afternoon hours and was later joined by the woman described as much younger than him.
It is alleged that the body was discovered about five hours later after the lady had left the lodging without reporting to anyone.
Police and witnesses who checked in the room reported that they found two used condoms on the floor of the room.
Also found in the room was an unknown drug which police took for further tests by the experts.
The owner of the club that owns the lodgings the deceased is their frequent customer and that he entered the club as usual in the morning hours and after five hours he was joined by a lady.
She added, “The deceased ordered food, and while it was being prepared, they both checked into their booked room. We became suspicious that it was getting late from 11 am to 7 pm our client was not responding or following up on the food he ordered,”
Adding that, ““I told one of my workers to take food to the room, but he was shocked to get the man alone without the lady, and he was lying on the floor.We found two used condoms and saw some tablets like drugs on plain paper, we called the police who came and took away the body.”
The body of the deceased was later taken to Kakamega Funeral Parlor awaiting postmortem to ascertain the cause of the death.
