Reverend Lucy Natasha, the founder of Empowerment Christian Church, has revealed that her first boyfriend was a Japanese boy.
In an interview with a stand-up comedian, the woman of God however said that was a long time ago when she was still naive.
During the live show, Natasha recalled that a Japanese lad proposed to her after confessing his love for her five days after meeting.
At the time, she said she was participating in a competition that allowed her to interact with other students around the world.
“My first boyfriend was a Japanese guy but I was still young. I can’t even call it a solid relationship because at that time you don’t even know what love is,” she said.
She added: “It was more like just a chemistry attraction. I remember we spent five days in the conference. Before he flew back, he proposed to me.”
Natasha said that even after he left Kenya, the two continued to exchange letters with the Japanese boy since they had so much rapport.
“We continued writing letters then we met in several other conferences but as I went to high school the relationship died, you know, because of the distance. And after primary school, the conferences that we had were no longer happening,” she responded.
At the same time, she revealed that she and her husband, Prophet Stanley Carmel, are in a long distance marriage.
Natasha and Carmel walked down the aisle about three years ago in a colourful ceremony in Nairobi. The event was attended by their families and friends.
Immediately after their wedding, the two continued their mission and frequently shared their photos which started to become less, raising suspicions among their fans.
Once in a while, the preacher who is described to be the sexiest by Kenyan men, has been on the receiving end of some social media posts, including some netizens, who keep asking when she will welcome a bundle of joy.
And now the flamboyant preacher has revealed that they are in a long distance union. Natasha is in Kenya while her husband is in Canada.
Natasha said they frequently meet with Carmel during preaching missions. She was responding to a question about long-distance relationships.
“I think long distance relationships can work, that is if the partners are able to communicate effectively, if the partners are able to have commitment and if both are able to compromise,” she said.
Even so, she explained, people in long-distance relationships face the challenges of time zones and the challenge of not seeing each other often.
“It can work very well depending on the two partners and what they want. There are people that want a relationship where they are together consistently,” she said.
“My husband lives in Canada. I live in Kenya but we are always going back and forth, meeting,” she explained.
Natasha said when she recently visited the United States for conferences, she was with her husband in New York, Texas and California. She said Carmel sometimes visits Kenya.
“There is no set calendar because also right now we are just into our third year of marriage so we are still trying to navigate whether to settle fully in Kenya or fully in Canada,” she added.
