A renowned Kenyan radio personality Jahmby Koikai has succumbed to a long battle with Endometriosis illness at the Nairobi Hospital.
Her death coming barely three days after her post on instagram requesting for blood type O+ positive.
“Hi fam, I’m currently admitted at the pioneer ward Nairobi hospital and I kindly need Blood O positive. Kindly ask for blood donors for Mary Njambi Koikai,” she requested.
Njamby popularly known as Fyah Mummah has been doing well after she underwent several surgeries in the USA over the same Endometriosis that saw spent four months in the specialized hospital. Until recently, when she was admitted in the ICU.
Her passing on news shocked the social media fraternity including friends and family who have since eulogised how devastating her demise was.
Njamby had urged the kenyan leaders especially president William Ruto through her social media to consider setting up specialized treatment facilities that helps those women battling the monstrous silent killer; the endometriosis get help.
The adverse effects of Endometriosis and Adenomyosis cause infertility. 1 in 10 women are battling Endometriosis worldwide. The numbers are staggering. Due to our traditions and taboos, young girls and women are shamed to believe that period pain is normal. Period pain is not normal.
As you commence your State visit to the US, I’d like to kindly add a few visits that would help the millions of Kenyan women battling in silence.

All along she had been detailing how she struggled with the effect of a misplaced endometrial tissue that saw her lungs collapse every month hence the need for multiple surgeries.
She documented how it took over a decade to get a right diagnosis and treatment back here in the country. Through her social networks, she had revealed that the misplaced tissue had spread to her teeth, heart, appendix, and spine.
