Two people are feared dead following an air accident involving two airplanes in Nairobi.
According to police reports the accident happened at Nairobi National Park. About 40 people were injured in the 9:45am accident on March 5.
One of the planes was reportedly headed for Diani with 44 passengers and five crew and the other plane was on training exercise with only two people around Wilson
A statement by a company managing the passenger planes reads in part,”
“We wish to report that this morning at 9:45 Local Time our flight number 053 with 39 passengers and 5 crew on board headed to Diani experienced a loud bang soon after take-off.”
Adding that, “the crew decided to immediately turn back to Nairobi-Wilson Airport for further inspection and assessment and landed safely. There were no casualties reported,”
Their statement added the relevant agencies have been notified to investigate the accident.
