A man who was captured while assaulting a female colleague at Eastmatt Supermarket in Kajiado has claimed that he is the sole breadwinner of his family.
Ibrahim Kiruti Taraiya appeared today before a magistrate court in Kajiado for plea taking but the court ordered that he be detained until December 6th.
The prosecution team pushed for Taraiya to be denied bail in court in fear that he may be a flight risk, a key factor in bail denial for suspects.
Taraiya had pleaded with the court to release him on bail as he was the sole breadwinner for his family.
Taraya reportedly assaulted Sharon Atieno on November 12th. He was arrested and detained before he was released the following day after Sharon allegedly withdrew the case.
However, the CCTV footage went viral on social media creating public uproar which led to his re-arrest on 23rd November.
