TERRORISM: Police arrest man recruiting Al-Shabaab in Nairobi

A man believed to have been recruiting youths to join Al-Shabaan terror group in Nairobi has been arrested.

Abdulaziz Hassan was arrested on 15th October at Eestleigh area around 4pm while attempting to convince some youths to join the group.

The suspect has now been detained for ten days after detectives investigating the case were given green light by a Magistrate Court in Makadara last week.

“The suspect is suspected to be a member of terror group and believed to be having vital information in regards to recruitment of youths from Kenya to join the said terror group”, the investigating officer told the court.

The court was told that Abdulaziz has a Kenyan National Identity card which needs to be forwarded to registrar of persons for verification.

The suspect’s phone which was recovered from him during the arrest need to be forwarded to cyber crime unit DCI headquarters for analysis and data recovery” says the officer.
