A man in at a village in Tharak-Nithi County has been admitted in hospital after his attempt to circumcise himself backfired.
According to witnesses the man’s wife had leaked to elders that her husband was not circumcised which is against the tradition in the Ameru culture.
For this reason angered men stormed his house over the weekend but he managed to flee and decided to circumcise himself using razor blade in the nearby forest.
“We suspect he didn’t do it as required, we rushed him to Chuka County Referral hospital where doctors assisted him, had we delayed for a minute his life would have been in danger” a witness told Nairobi Journal.
Another neighbour said the man’s wife told them that the husband had also been lying to her that he was circumcised until she saw for herself.
Area police boss said the father of three was found bleeding profusely in his house by his wife who called village men and rushed him to hospital.
