The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has launched an E-Certificate Platform that lets Kenyans access and download their KCSE certificates digitally without visiting any office.
Here is how to do it in a few simple steps.
Step 1: Go to the KNEC E-Certificate Portal
Open the portal on your phone or computer and get started.
Step 2: Create an Account
If it’s your first time, click Register and fill in your details to set up an account.
Step 3: Log In
Use the username and password you just created to sign in.
Step 4: Enter Your Exam Details
Key in your full KCSE Index Number and select the year you sat for the exam. Double-check these — a wrong entry will cause problems.
Step 5: Pay the Fee
Pay a one-time, non-refundable fee of KSh 1,300 through the payment options available on the portal.
Step 6: Get Your Certificate
Once your payment is confirmed, your digital certificate is generated automatically. Download it, save it, print it, or share it directly with employers or institutions.
A few things to keep in mind:
Your digital certificate is tamper-proof and officially verifiable.
- Keep your login details safe. You may need them again later.
Employers and schools can accept the certificate shared electronically.
