It is emerging that Deputy President Kithure Kindiki does not prefer sitting in office, shuffling documents and watching television lke a VIP.
Since the beginning of the year, the Deputy President has been out of the cosy city office, mostly inspecting key project across the country.
This week alone, Kindiki has been in more than three counties in what observers describe as a good move to cement his position as the second in command but also delivering duties assigned by his boss.
On March 17 for instance Kindiki was in Timua, Meru county for an inspection tour of the Sh3.3 billion fresh produce Timau ESP market being constructed by the national government.
He also inspected the Timau Affordable Housing Project consisting of 287 units, which are 45 percent complete, and will cost 766 million shillings.
“The Deputy President is already charting his own part as indepedent person but also available for assignment by his boss,” observes political analysy Phillip Chebunet
He added, “To me I think he understands the assignment that he was given by the President, on the political angle he also tackles government critics.
A day after Meru, tour, Kindiki landed in Bomet County to inspect other projects including a modern market in Chebunyo.
He also inspected ongoing works on the 2.1 billion shillings Kyogong- Kapkesosio- Sigor- Kaboson – Chebunyo/ Sigor- Lelaiitich- Kipreres- Longisa road.
According to the analyst, Kindiki’s time away from office makes him suitable Deputy President
This is also seen as move to fill the space that President Ruto described when he parted ways with the former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
