The body of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) student which was found hanging in the bathroom locked from has finally been identified.

Carey Chibukosia’s body was discovered a few meters away from his counterpart Dariel Luvunga, whose lifeless body lay in a pool of blood on the living room floor, bearing stab wounds to the stomach and head.

The shocking discovery stemmed from Luvunga’s father’s unanswered distressed calls. The father reportedly sensed danger and was forced to visit his son at his rented house.
 
He went to the rented room in Maraba Estate and noticed blood near the door. He alerted neighbors and police. The door was locked from the inside, so neighbors and authorities had to force it open.

A blood-stained knife was recovered at the scene, along with signs of a struggle and two bottles of alcohol with little remaining.

Police say these point to a violent confrontation before the deaths. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and local police are now probing the case as a suspected murder-suicide.

The incident shocked the residents of Maraba Estate in Kakamega after the bodies of two male students from were discovered inside their locked rented house.

The incident, which police are investigating as a possible murder and suicide, has sent shockwaves through the university community and left families devastated.

Luvunga, was a third-year Bachelor of Education Arts student, and Chibukosia was a second-year Bachelor of Education Science student.

According to police, Chibokosia is believed to have stabbed and killed his colleague, Luvunga, 21, before he died by suicide.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to record statement. they are looking into possible motives, including a close friendship the two shared since high school, and have not ruled out personal disputes.

No clear motive has been confirmed yet.The bodies were taken to Kakamega Referral Hospital for post-mortem examinations to establish the exact causes of death.

Luvunga’s father stated that “I came to see him this morning after missing him yesterday. When I looked at the door, I saw blood and immediately knew there was something wrong inside.”
