A security guard was arraigned before Nairobi court for allegedly obtaining over Sh700,000 from three different people with the promise that he will link their relatives with police jobs.

Isaack Kipkoech facing a cheating charge that on December 5, 2025 at Nairobi Central Business District by means of fraudulent trick obtained Sh200,000 from Lilian Musungu.

In another count, Kipkoech was accused that on December 6, 2025 at an unknown location and by means of fraudulent trick, he obtained Sh200,000 from Lilian Nakini.

In another case, it was stated that on December 9, 2025 at an unknown location within the country obtained Sh307,000 from Ambrose Kipsha.

According to court details, on December 5, 2025 the accused approached Ambrose Kipsha who was his former teacher and told that he had been allocated vacancies at the Administration police and national intelligence service.

Hearing this, it is stated that the Kepsha called his mother in-law Lilian Musungu and inquired whether her son was interested in the job of which the accused was asking Sh200,000 for facilitation.

It is claimed when the complaint obliged and sent the money, he claimed that he had secured seven more vacancies.

Assuming that this was good news, the complaint is said to have contacted another relative who parted with Sh307,000 for her son to be enrolled in the police service.

It is alleged that when Kipkoech had collected the money, he kept promising the complainants before starting dodging them before they decided to report the case leading to his arrest in Mbagathi area.

When he was arraigned in court, he denied receiving the cash and was set free on surety bond of Sh200,000 or cash bail of Sh100,000 awaiting trial on January 1, 2026
