Oburu Oginga has revealed some details of the Will drafted by his later brother Raila Odinga before he passed on while receiving treatment in India.
Oburu made the remarks during an update by the State Funeral Committee at the residence of the Deputy President.
Oburu also appealed to the members of public to be peaceful ahead of his arrival in Kisumu.
“Raila should not be teargased in life and death, let us give him deserving respect, I don’t like what was witnessed in Kasarani,” Oburu who is the Co-chairperson of the National State Funeral Committee said
Adding that, “I appeal to our people to be peaceful so as to avoid the use of force like witnessed in Kasarani and personally I, don’t like teargas and any use of force,”
Oburu also gave the details of Raila’s will and the exact location where he will be laid to rest.
“We would like to clarify that, I have seen his Will and he clearly stated that he would be like to be burried in the place his father and mother are buried,” Oburu stated
The Committee Chaired by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki said that on Saturday morning, Raila remains will be airlifted to Mamboleo grounds in Kisumu by the Kenya Defence Forces and it is expected to arrive around 8am.
“Members of the public are requested to be settled by 7am to dignify the arrival of the remains of our leader,” Kindiki announced
“There will be public viewing of the mortal remains of the late Prime Minister Raila Odinga at Mamboleo grounds for most of the day until we are satisfied that everyone has had a chance to respect the remains of our leader,” added the DP
Thereafter, the body will be taken to Bondo for an overnight stay before burial on Sunday.
