Amref International University (AMIU) has signed partnership with two Dutch universities to improve training in the health sector.
AMIU entered into Memorandum of Understanding with Julius Centre Global Health of University Medical Centre Utrecht (UMCU) Managing Director Prof. Rick Grobbee and Maastricht University Managing Director School of Health Professions Education Geraldine Beaujean.

It will liaise with the two universities to promote innovations in healthcare technology and capacity building in health sciences which will include promoting online healthcare courses, alignment of educational content, co-creation and expansion of programmes, development of the Amref E-campus.
AMIU Acting Vice-Chancellor Dr Alice Lakati said the objectives of the two agreements are to explore and initiate opportunities to share expertise and create mutually beneficial outcomes.
“These partnerships are geared towards strengthening and building of capacity in response to the challenge of inadequate human resources in the healthcare.” said Dr Lakati
She said the shared goal will strengthen capacity and quality of the health workforce in the continent.
Amref International University in Lang’ata, Nairobi is owned by Amref Health Africa, a leading Africa-based health development Non-Governmental Organisation with over 130 programmes in 35 African countries.
